LIX - UltraDNS partnership

UltraDNS is connected to LIX and open for peering with LIX members.

UltraDNS (www.ultradns.com) is a provider for DNS services and is hosting among others TLD zones like .org, .info, .uk, .no and .lu as well as zones like oracle.com and amazon.com. The DNS servers are part of a worldwide anycast network, so that queries to these servers reach the closest location resulting in faster response times. The multiple locations also assure the robustness of the system.

UltraDNS has kindly provided a local node to the LIX so that LIX members are able to peer and have very short routes to the UltraDNS cloud. The benefit for members will be on one hand very fast response times for a number of important zones, as well as an increased resilience in case of a major DOS attack on the DNS system.
